Dadri lynching: Journalists, AAP workers driven out, Kejriwal to visit victim's family

Dadri, UP: The investigation into the gruesome killing of a 58-year-old Muslim man in Bisahada village is getting murkier by the day.

First Dadri SDM was accused of threatening the family members of the victim, Mohammad Ikhlaaq, who was killed by a mob over a rumour of eating cow meat and now it appears the whole village has been taken hostage by the UP police.

At present the entry of media is not being allowed into the village. The police has clearly forced the women of the village to push any outsiders or media personnel out.

Little while ago some journalists and some Aam Aadmi Party volunteers were driven out of the village . In a short while AAP convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is set to arrive to meet the family members of the victim.

Fear is palpable in Bisahada and it is very clear that the people of the village and specifically victim's family members are terrified and afraid to speak. Meanwhile Ikhlaaq's 21-year-old son Danish is still fighting for his life in a Noida hospital where he continues to be in a critical condition.

On Friday there was utter chaos in the village after SDM Rajesh Kumar allegedly threatened family members of the victim, telling them "jo bolega woh bhugtega" which means "whoever speaks up will face the consequences."

Samaajwadi Party government of Uttar Pradesh will do better by not trying to silence the victims and those who speak for them and rather catching the real culprits and punishing them.
