Dadri lynching: BJP and ruling SP trade charges, is victim's family being forced to tow govt line?

The family of Mohammad Iqlakh - the man who was killed on Monday in Bisahada village near Dadri, UP, by a mob - has told the authorities that 5 people, including the son of a local BJP member who lives in the neighborhood, instigated the mob, according to Times of India report.

The aggrieved family has accused Vishal, Arun, Chandrapal, Hari Om and his brother. Vishal is the son of a BJP worker, additional district magistrate Rajesh Yadav said.

Vishal forced the priest to announce that cow was slaughtered and stored in Iqlakh's house, the family said. Moreover, the priest on Thursday said that two youths had forced him to make the announcement that cow was slaughtered and stored in the house of Mohammad Iqlakh.

The police said that around 200 people attacked the house of Iqlakh after rumours spread in the village that a cow has been slaughtered and beef was stored at his residence.

The mob allegedly beat Iqlakh to death while his 22-year old son Danish was critically injured in the attack and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to a senior police officer, 6 persons have been arrested in connection with the lynching of the man and a manhunt launched to arrest the rest named accused in the case.

But the question remains what role if any the ruling Samaajwadi Party government played in the whole incident. Sources claim that victim's family is being forced by UP police to keep media and activists away and say what the government wants them to say.

Yesterday Dadri SDM was accused of threatening the family against speaking the truth. Now the SDM , to cover up his own guilt, is trying to frame the social workers who protested against him in false case.

Question is also being raised about the silence of PM Modi on the whole issue, who otherwise is very quick in taking to Twitter on every big or small issue. Will the PM speak up?

Will justice be served? We are waiting.
