Xiaomi Redmi 2 may be launched in India on March 12, the Chinese company has hinted. Xiaomi has started a new contest on its official site, using Facebook and Twitter to spread the word.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 is the new product that is going to be launched on March 12. It has been revealed by Xiaomi India that the consumer who solves the word puzzle will be given priority passes.

The keywords in the word puzzle are hints about its new product, said a Facebook post by Xiaomi India.

Initially Xiaomi Redmi 2 was launched in China and was later expected to be launched in India as well. The device has dual-SIM facility, features 4.7 inch display with 720X 1280 HD resolution. It uses Android 4.4 KitKat.

It has 1 GB RAM, 64 bit 1.2 GHz, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and Adreno 306 GPU powered by 2200 mAh battery. It has 8- megapixel rear camera and front camera of 2 megapixels. Inbuilt memory is of 8 GB extendable up to 32 GB.

The specifications were later upgraded by company to include 2 GB RAM and internal inbuilt memory of 16 GB.
