Jawbone launches new fitness trackers: UP3, UP Move

Jawbone's latest fitness trackers have been launched - the $50 UP Move is targeted mainly at beginners eager to see what health-focused wearables are all about, while the $180 UP3 is going for serious fitness enthusiasts looking for in-depth data 24/7.

The UP Move tracker hooks up with its new 'Smart Coach' insight and coaching engines. Smart Coach processes all the collected data and utilizes it to offer personalized recommendations on how to improve your lifestyle and health.

The provided clip in the UP Move tracker means you can attach it just about anywhere you like, keeping it out of sight if you want. The device comes in 5 different colors, and you can easily match and mix it with different-colored straps and clips.

The device, which is fitted with a standard watch battery should give it months of battery life, is up for pre-order on the official website of the company, or customers can also buy it from Best Buy, Target, Apple and Amazon stores later this month.

On the other hand, the UP3 is a bit pricier, but you will get a lot more functionality and convenience for the extra bucks, as well as Jawbone's lightest and smallest tracker yet.

The company has designed its own sensor platform using cutting-edge bioimpedance technology. Such technology has permitted Jawbone to design a smaller device with longer battery life, capable of tracking not only heart rate but also skin conductance and respiration rate.

The UP3 will record a whole load of detailed data while you are sleeping, with its sensors able to distinguish between 3 different stages of sleep. It comes as a clasp-equipped one-size-fits-all band with a touch-sensitive central unit.
