Bank of America is conducting an internal test on Windows 10 Mobile version of their mobile banking app and plans to launch it this summer, says a tweet from the Bank of America Help account.
A story on mspoweruser.com displayed a photograph of an internal Bank of America screen which said that the app would be available on March 28.
Chase and Bank of America both halted the development of Windows Phone last January and withdrew their apps from the Windows Phone store. In retrospect, they might have abandoned the old Windows Phone architecture for Universal Windows App that would support both Windows 10 Mobile and Desktop.
There were hints last year to indicate that union between Bank of America and Windows was not over yet. In August, in an interview with InformationWeek, Bank of America CTO David Reilly said that the Bank was dedicated to a full-scale utilization of Windows 10 internally "as early as we can." He talked about the ease of the upgrade as compared to past Windows deployments and the reliability of the user interface across devices.
Microsoft's stress on Universal Windows Apps was fully displayed today at the Build 2016 developer conference in San Francisco. The company showcased Universal Apps running on Xbox and Windows Desktop and a tool to shift Win32 programs to UWA.
