Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has asked the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to look into the case of 3 men from Kerala who were allegedly tortured and held captive by their employer.

A video of the 3 men beaten by their employer in Abha, Saudi Arabia, had surfaced on social networking sites and mobile messaging services before being shown in Indian media.

The Indian Embassy officials in Saudi Arabia got in touch with the authorities to secure protection for the workers. Abhilash Gopi (30) and B Vimal Kumar (30) from Muttom near Haripad along with Byju Babu (26) from Arattupuzha were allegedly scammed by a placement agency which placed them in jobs in a brick factory.
