The police have arrested the brother of an Ohio pastor for shooting dead the clergyman at his church.

Dayton police on Sunday said that 70-year-old William Schooler was gunned down at around 12.30pm in his office at St Peter's Missionary Baptist Church.

The police have arrested William's 68-yer-old brother Daniel Schooler and he will be charged with murder on Monday. According to police, pastor was the only intended victim of the shooting.

Besides being pastor at the church, Mr Schooler was a former interim president of the Dayton school board and current president of the local Baptist ministers union.
