Nita Ambani, wife of Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani, has been recommended by the board of directors of the company to join the RIL board.

Nita is also the chairperson of Reliance Foundation and serves as a director on the board of RIL.

Nita has been nominated to the board in place of Ramnik H. Ambani, who is retiring at the age of 90 years.

Nita's name will be approved after taking permission from shareholders during the 40th AGM being held on June 18.
