Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Phone rumors: Both devices to be launched with innovative features; will include Redstone 2 and Kaby Lake

Microsoft is reportedly planning to introduce the Surface Phone to the market, alongside its tablet lines. Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Phone are expected to come out this year, but some enthusiasts forecast a 2017 launch.

Microsoft may also delay the release of the devices since the company is still waiting for the upcoming Windows 10 update, the Redstone 2. The Redmond-based is also anticipating the release of Intel's Kaby Lake processors, which may release this fall.

The Surface Pro 5 is expected to come with a 4K display, 16 GB of RAM, a USB Type-C port, a mini Display port, a rechargeable Surface Pen and a fingerprint scanner.

On the other hand, the Surface Phone is also expected to come out this year. Kevin Gallo, the company's Corporate VP for Windows, has said the upcoming handset will come loaded with innovative features.

The Surface Phone is reported to be launched in variants. The first version may have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory while the second model may have a powerful 6 GB RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. There is also an enterprise version with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB of internal memory.
