In a big move to attract students in the US into buying its latest Surface tablet, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, Microsoft is offering the tablet with the Xbox One gaming console and discounting the final price by $300.

Now, if students buy Microsoft Surface Pro 4 along with the Xbox One from the retail stores of the company, they will get the Xbox One free of cost. The offer is valid till August 14.

Microsoft announced the promotional offer just days after announcing that it will stop production of Surface 3 end of this year.

It is expected that the Redmond-based company's decision to stop the production of Surface 3 tablets would push sales of Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book. The Surface 3 was launched in March 2015.

The device comes equipped with 10.8-inch full-HD display and ran Windows 8.1 OS out-of-the-box. The OS was upgradeable to Windows 10. The tablet was launched in two variants based on RAM and inbuilt storage.
