New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch its new SX4 S-Cross in India in the first week of July.

OverDrive reported that the company's new crossover S-Cross will be launched in India in the first week of July. The report, however, did not divulge the exact launch details of the model. Maruti S-Cross will be displayed on 7 June at the IIFA awards 2015, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Maruti's S-Cross aka Across is likely to include 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines. The 1.6-litre diesel engine will deliver 118bhp of power with a peak torque of 32kgm and the transmission is likely to come from a six-speed manual gearbox. Recent set spy shots of S-Cross had shown the model with roof-carrier.

The new car will be priced around 8 lakh and will compete with Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and Nissan Terrano in India. The report said that the Maruti SX4 S-Cross aka S-Cross will be available in six body colours - Cosmic Black Pearl Metallic, Arctic White Pearl, Galactic Grey Metallic Boost Blue Pearl Metallic, Bison Brown Pearl Metallic and Silky Silver Metallic.
