A new leak has claimed that Apple has made up its mind to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack and the company will ship the regular 3.5mm EarPods in the box alongside a Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter - and not the Lightning-powered EarPods rumoured to accompany the 3.5mm jack lacking iPhone 7.
Macotakara claims that Apple plans to bundle normal 3.5mm EarPods with the iPhone 7, allowing the users to use it on other devices as well.
Apple is also expected to ditch the 16GB variant, and make 32GB as the new base storage variant. Some reports claim that Apple will also discontinue the 64GB variant, and introduce the 128GB variant.
The report also said that there are going to be two speaker grilles on each side of the Lightning port now that there is more space with no 3.5mm audio jack. Both speakers will be 'on a monaural system', and not the stereo speakers as previously rumoured.
The iPhone 7 is rumored to release in September in three variants - iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7 Pro/Plus Premium. A change in antenna bands position, and support for dual-SIM trays is also expected.
