iPad Pro first impressions: Is it a true notebook-killer?

iPad Pro first impressions: Is it a true notebook-killer? The Apple iPad created the tablet segment five years ago and has stayed on top of the premium slice of the tablet market pie. However, recently, the iPad hasn't exactly been setting the market on fire.

As computing evolves, tablets have become something between smartphones and computers, whereas the original intention was to replace computers. However, that hasn't happened. But the iPad Pro may just be the first device that delivers on that promise with the enormous screen size and the specs it brings. So it's also a whole new category, because of its size and new use cases.

The iPad Pro with the Smart Keyboard seems bigger than a 13-inch MacBook Air largely because of the screen. And, it's also surprisingly light. With 5.6 million pixels, the iPad Pro features the highest-resolution Retina display of any iOS device.

Performance is top- notch given the A9X processor with 64-bit desktop class architecture. From 4k video to graphics intensive games nothing bothers it one bit. Accessories with the iPad Pro include the Smart Keyboard and a Pencil to try out the device.

The iPad Pro has a great display, fantastic size-to-weight ratio and a powerful processor. Whether it will truly be a notebook replacement remains to be seen because after all, that's the true intention behind the iPad Pro.

In India, 32GB, Wi-Fi model costs Rs 67,900, 128 GB Wi-Fi costs Rs 79,900 and 128GB, Wi-Fi+4G Cellular is priced at Rs 91,900. The smart keyboard is sold separately for Rs 14,900 and the Pencil for Rs 8,600.
