The much-anticipated talks between BCCI President Shashank Manohar and Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Shahryar Khan on the proposed bilateral series have been rescheduled after protests by Shiv Sena activists forced the Board to cancel the meet in Mumbai today.
The meeting was to take place in Mumbai but was cancelled in view of the protest at the BCCI headquarters during which several Shiv Sainiks barged into the Board office and questioned Manohar in his office.
The Shiv Sainiks chanted 'vande matram' and slogans against Shahryar Khan. They protested saying they will not allow any cricket ties with Pakistan.
The police detained around 20 Shiv Sena activists and said they have brought the situation under control and increased security to ensure the protest does not recur.
