HRD Minister Smriti Irani launches education-based mobile apps and web-based portals - In keeping with the Modi government's Digital India initiative, the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry on Saturday launched several web-based portals and digital platforms such as 'E-Pathshala,' 'Saransh' and 'Shala Siddhi' portals as well as Mobile Apps.
E-Pathshala will host educational resources for students, teachers, parents, researchers and educators. Saransh will assist parents to compare subject-wise learning outcome of their children, with others at district, state and national levels, and Shala Siddhi aims to improve schools.
The HRD ministry has taken another initiative 'Shaladarpan,' which was introduced earlier in Kendriya Vidyalayas, in which parents will be informed about the child's presence, time table and mark sheets etc.
A committee had been constituted to look at the Mid-Day Meal Scheme framework from the point of view of nutrition and states should prepare their own menus for their students, Irani said.
Praising the work done by individuals to spread education among the masses, Irani said her ministry now provides a window 'I share for India,' in which digital initiatives aiming to spread learning can be shared.
She further added that 'Swacch Vidyalaya' dream had been achieved and all government schools have toilets for girl school.
