Dadri lynching: All 10 accused now arrested

The tenth and last accused in the incident of mob killing of a Muslim man in Dadri in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested, police said on Monday.

The accused Hari Om was nabbed at a relative's house in Sardhana town of western Uttar Pradesh by police late Sunday following a tip-off by an informer.

Confirming the arrest, Dadri circle officer Anurag Singh said Hari Om was the last of the ten accused in lynching of 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq who was killed by a mob in Bisahada village on September 28.

Police had put his phone on surveillance and after his location was identified, a police team raided the house and arrested him.

Soon after the incident, the six accused - Shri Om, Vivek, Gaurav, Saurabh, Sandip and Rupendra had been arrested, and another two - Shivam and Vishal were arrested two days after the incident, police officials said.

Akhlaq was beaten to death by an angry mob on September 28, while his son Danish was gravely injured after announcements were made from a nearby temple that the family had allegedly consumed beef.
