'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' coming with new features, content in 2017, Treyarch confirms

After "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" was launched last month, many CoD fans thought that Activision might not be releasing any more DLCs for 2015's "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3." But, developer Treyarch has just confirmed that "Black Ops 3" will continue receiving new content in 2017.

Treyarch's Jason Blundell confirmed in a developer livestream yesterday that "Black Ops 3" will have something new next year. The studio head didn't reveal any specifics, but he was quoted as saying that there's "another healthy and fun year of updates" in 2017.

"I am afraid I cannot say anything right now," Blundell said. It was confirmed, however, that a new feature will be arriving to Zombies soon, and it is called Newton's Cookbook.

"I cannot say anything specifically at this point and time, but I can say that as Treyarch, we are excited about this game? and as long as they continue playing our game, we're going to continue to support it in the same way," Treyarch's co-studio head Dan Bunting said, reports CharlieIntel.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" was released in November 2015, and since then, has received four expansion packs. Many fans are surprised by the news of additional content for "Black Ops 3" in 2017. New content usually stops rolling out when the latest installment to the "Call of Duty" franchise is released.

Please note that according to Activision, "Black Ops 3" was its overall best-selling game in 2015. As of August 2016, it also remained on top of Activision's titles. "Infinite Warfare," the latest installment in the franchise, has not been doing that well. Sales for Infinity Ward's game have declined substantially when compared to the sales of "Black Ops 3."
