The Delhi government has asked the IT Ministry to block Uber and Ola mobile apps and told the US-based taxi service, Uber, to deposit a sworn affidavit which declares that the taxi service is fulfilling the ban imposed on it.
Several reports were doing the rounds that the company's cab service is operational despite the ban by the government.
According to a senior government official "We have directed Uber to submit sworn affidavit declaring therein that you are complying with the ban order imposed upon your company."
In January, Uber taxi service had applied for a radio taxi license to continue operation through its subsidiary, Resource Expert India Pvt Ltd.
The application submitted by Uber has still not been approved by concerned authorities.
In the letter addressed to the cab company, government said reports have emerged that despite the ban, the company's cab service remains operational.
