Bernie Sanders takes Oregon, Hillary Clinton set to win Kentucky

Washington: Hillary Clinton seems set to defeat her main rival Bernie Sanders in Kentucky’s Democratic primary Tuesday, CNN projected.

Clinton managed to take the state by half a percentage point with almost all the votes counted.

The former US secreatry of state declared her win after Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that “based on what we are seeing coming in, … Kentucky will remain in a win column for the Clintons.”

CNN projection says, Sanders is set to win the Oregon Democratic primary. Addressing his supporters in Carson, California, Sanders said that he would win a sizable chunk of delegates in Kentucky.

“It appears tonight we’re going to end up with about half of the delegates,” Sanders said. “This is in a sense the beginning of the final push to win California.”

Bernie Sanders is under pressure to abandon the presidential campaign but he insists he will remain in the race until “the last ballot is cast.”
