Basketball Career Over, Kobe Bryant Vows To Keep Lamar Odom Sober

Los Angeles: Kobe Bryant, 37 has made a pledge to help his friend Lamar Odom, 36, stay teetotal now that he has left the Los Angeles Lakers.

The former basketball pro really wants to be there for Lamar after completing his NBA career. The 5-time-champion thinks Lamar is in serious trouble and is going to do everything he can to help.

A source told HollywoodLife.com, "Kobe's work may be done on the court but it's just beginning off the court. Kobe's really invested in Lamar and is vowing to help him get sober. Kobe made the promise to him last night after his final game."

The Black Mamba had a passionate evening on April 13 as he played his last game for the Los Angeles Lakers after a 20 year old career.

The source said, "He told Lamar 'I got you' and told him he and Vanessa want to help him. Like Khloe, Kobe fears Lamar's in trouble and could easily slip back into his bad habits and nobody wants that. They shed a few tears and Lamar was thankful for the offer. If there's one person who can straighten Lamar out, it's Mamba himself."

Lamar and Kobe were together for seven years in the Lakers and appeared in three NBA championships where they won two of them. The duo has a pretty close relation.
