Another Uzbek dancer found dead, this time in UP – In a new turn of events to the murder of Uzbek belly dancer Shakhnoza Shukurova, police have discovered the body of another woman from that country who was an alleged partner in the killing.
The body of Naaz, disappeared since Shukurova’s murder, was found from Hapur in west Uttar Pradesh.
The second murder came to the light during the interrogation of prime accused Gagandeep, who was allegedly Naaz’s agent. He finally confessed to having killed Naaz because she was the only witness to Shukurova’s murder.
Gagandeep and Naaz had supposedly choked Shukurova inside a car and set her body ablaze in Haryana following a dispute over Rs 8 lakh that Naaz owed her.
Gagandeep told police that Naaz had called Shukurova for a meeting at the South Extension market on September 24. The two forced Shukurova to sit in Gagandeep’s Tata Indica for a conversation. The two women soon got into an intense argument, after which Shukurova was strangled.
Gagandeep claimed that the killing was an accident.
They thought of discarding the body on the roadside but Naaz freaked out and asked him to drive on till they reached a remote area. They shoved the body in a bag and burnt it by pouring petrol on it close to a farmhouse in Samalkha, Haryana, police said.
He drove to Hapur and choked her on the way. DCP Prem Nath said, “Gagandeep took the body to a field and burnt it in a similar way with the remaining petrol kept in the car. He then returned to Delhi a day later and parked the car outside the owner’s house in Malviya Nagar and fled.”
