Two newspaper advertisements by the BJP in Bihar have been banned by the Election Commission following complaints from leaders in the Nitish Kumar-led "Grand Alliance."
The Election Commission has asked the Bihar's Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Naik to ensure that the two advertisements aren't published in any newspaper from tomorrow till the elections in the state end.
Before the 'Grand Alliance' leaders moved to the Election Commission today, the BJP beat them to the draw.
The BJP's Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi after meeting the Election Commission to complain against the rival party said, "In the last few days, their leaders have attempted to communalise the Bihar campaign. They want to disturb the communal harmony."
Hours later, a delegation of the 'Grand Alliance' demanded the poll panel to prohibit BJP chief Amit Shah from entering Bihar till the "poll process is over."
With the close battle in Bihar election entering its last phase, the campaign has become harsher with both sides using bitter words to attack the other. Counting of votes will take place on November 8, after two more phases of polling. Till now, votes have been cast in three phases for 131 of Bihar's 243 seats.
