Mobile digital dating has become a whole new trend with the rise of Tinder. A number of mobile dating apps and apps based on the same concept have come up as well.
There is nothing new about online dating. Sites like OkCupid and eHarmony have been in the market for long. Users of these sites are asked to create elaborate profiles. Matches are then suggested by using algorithms. According to a report, this complicated process has been made really simple by Tinder.
The app is available for Android and iOS users who may scan potential dates on the basis of short description, photos and distance. If you are interested in a potential date, all you have to do is swipe right. Tinder uses the user's Facebook account.
One of the reasons behind Tinder's success is its market base which comprises of millennial, most of whom do not use dating sites traditionally. Tinder has shown the way to several other mobile dating applications. Apps such as clover which are based on similar concept, have copied Tinder?s swipe-to-match model and have added their own features as well.
The number of competing apps is increasing and so Tinder has planned to gain an edge over its competitors. It was also reported that Tinder Plus, a premium paid service will let people access to new features-passport and undo. People will be able to "undo" an accidental swipe with the undo option while the passport option will enable the users to meet matches outside their region.
