Mind Candy's PopJam app is 'Instagram for kids'

Mind Candy, the British company, and the creator of Moshi Monsters has announced a new mobile app called PopJam, which is like an 'Instagram for kids.'

PopJam permits kids to create stories, art, games, contests and photos, and share their creations with other children across the world.

PopJam is similar to Instagram in that users can easily follow their friends if they like their creations. At the same time, they can comment, like and draw user responses to their creations that pop up in their feed.

The app will have user-generated content as there will be some professional content from Natalia Vodianova, who wants to teach kids about philanthropy and Decoded, which aims to motivate kids to learn coding.

Moreover, Mind Candy is also discussing with Jamie Oliver about how to teach kids benefits of healthy diet, food and nutrition.

As online communities for kids are prime hunting grounds for pedophiles, Mind Candy is taking child safety and security very seriously.

The app contributions will be constantly monitored and controlled by a team headed by online community expert Rebecca Newton. Kids will not be allowed to share selfies unless they are disguised with stickers.

Mind Candy has no plans to generate revenue in the short-run but may include a subscription service for premium content in the future.
