"Ravishankar Gopalakrishnan, Chief Financial Officer and acting CEO of the company, has resigned from the services with effect from today," Jet Airways said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
No reason for Gopalakrishnan's resignation has been given by the company.
It is to be noted that the Gopalakrishnan has taken over the extra responsibility just four months ago. He became the CEO following the departure of Garry Toomey in mid-January.
Sources said that Gopalakrishnan resigned last month and was supposed to serve until May 5 but he left the company three days earlier.
Gopalakrishman became the third top executive in the recent past year to step down from the management of the private airline, in which Gulf carrier Etihad Airways now holds a 24 per cent stake.
