Amazon's Fire Phone gets first update, hopes to improve things

Amazon's Fire phone hasn't really been received that well. With its first major update for the device, Amazon is looking forward to improve things.

The smartphone from the online retailer will now finally be able to multitask, an important feature which was missing initially.

To switch between tasks and apps, all you will have to do is double press on the home button.

In the new updated version of Fire OS of the handset, Amazon has introduced app grid collections, application folders; carousel pinning so that the users may pin their favorite app to the main home screen. It also features ability to take lenticular photos with 11 images.

Most importantly, this update will improve the battery life of the phone as it comes with dozens of system tweaks.

These features were present for those with the review unit but this is the first time that Amazon is introducing them to its formal customers.

The company said that it was waiting for the update to be approved by AT&T.;
