Brian Williams who belonged to Manchester, was suffering from terminal brain tumor and was being treated at Tameside hospital in the year 2012.
The doctors did not turn off his defibrillator implant after family allowed the 77-year-old to die.
The hospital informed that it had apologised to the family. Hospital even agreed on an out of court settlement. The hospital bosses mentioned in a statement that changes have been made in the end of life care practices.
Lynda Beresford, one of Mr Williams' Children said the medical records should have been properly checked and the implantable cardiac defibrillator should have been switched off so that her father "could pass away peacefully".
"Instead we had to see him suffer as the defibrillator shocked him back to life more than 30 times in just two days. My dad's final wish for a dignified death was cruelly taken away from him," she added.
