2016 Chevrolet Volt Electric Hybrid launched with 53 miles range

General Motors has unveiled 2016 Chevrolet Volt Electric Hybrid. Bookings for the Chevy Volt 2016 have started and the deliveries will start in January.

General Motors has added many interesting features in 2016 Chevy Volt and has also taken some inspiration from the expensive Tesla Model S.

Chevy focused greatly on increasing the car's performance and range while reducing the cost of the car. A new 1.5-liter I-4 engine has been used that features direct injection, 12.5:1 compression, exhaust gas re-circulation, and cam phasing that lets the car operate on the Atkinson cycle.

The electronics in the 2016 Volt received a renovation by integrating the Traction Power Inverter Module and other controller electronics with the electric engine and transmission. The transmission of the Volt now includes separate motors switching back and forth to propel the car forward depending on the driver's intention. They can even work together to ensure that the car is running at peak efficiency. The engine can run in five different modes and has reduced a total of 33 pounds compared to the previous model.

The 2011 Volt was the winner of the Motor Trend Car of the Year award, but it was certainly one of the first electric vehicles in its field. Since then, the market for electric cars has got a push. BMW has announced an electric model, Toyota is designing hydrogen fuel cell technology, and Tesla Motors has brought electronic cars from anonymity into the mainstream.
