Sydney: Australian Test captain Steve Smith has hit back at Virat Kohli, labeling the sledge of his dismissal "not required."
Smith was talking to the Channel Nine commentary team when caught by a pumped-up Kohli in Tuesday's Australia Day Twenty20 loss to India.
The Australian test skipper blamed poor shot selection for his dismissal instead of indulging in a discussion with the TV commentators.
However, fans seemed to believe that the live mike-chat led to Smith's dismissal as the hosts lost the match by 37 runs.
Australian opener David Warner defended Channel Nine's use of mike-chat technology, saying it is the players' responsibility to keep their concentration intact.
