The funniest moments from host T.J. Miller at the Critics' Choice Awards - Comedian T J Miller on Sunday joined the ranks of Ricky Gervais and Chris Rock when he hosted a big show during this year's award season and Miller showed that he has got the potential to challenge the heavyweights of comedy.
On Sunday's Critics' Choice Awards, the offbeat comedian was both funny and eccentric. Here are some of the best moments from Miller's night, including his dig at Gervais.
His monologue with his four dancing critics
In his opening bit, Miller gave his entire monologue with four "dancing critic" puppets in matching tuxedos attached to him through bars on his legs and hands. But the best bit with the puppets was when he tried to descend the stage to greet Matt Damon.
Dig at Gervais
Miller said in his opening bit that he would not make controversial jokes during his award show. "I am not going to Ricky Ger-vys this thing," Miller joked, perhaps purposely mispronouncing Globes host Ricky Gervais' name. "How awful and abrasive do you have to be to make all of us in this room feel bad for Mel Gibson?"
Confusing Amy Schumer
One of the funniest moments of the night was when Miller made a playful nod at award shows who try to come up with creative ways for viewers to "interact" with the show through social media. While sitting with Schumer and the Trainwreck crew, Miller started a speech about getting users to "send your favorite a celebrity a drink" by tweeting...or maybe that was taking a selfie? or maybe it was actually retweeting the celebrity and then adding the hashtag and getting 20 people to take a selfie and posting to Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat"
