Washington: The Tesla Model S is going to get "Bioweapon Defense Mode" air filtration system from the Model X and a 100kWh battery option.
A source in the know of the matter said that the company may introduced the new options as soon as this week with the debut of the Model X custom order configurator on the Tesla website.
The current largest battery available in the Model S is a 90kWh option.
Last week it was reported that the Model S would gain new "luxury-minded appointments" like LED headlights and ventilated seats. Some other design changes include tweaking to the nose and new paint colors.
It is likely that any or all of these upgrades could be delayed or cancelled entirely, as we know that Tesla changes its plans at the last minute.
Tesla doesn't use "model years" like traditional carmakers, but its upgraded the Model S ha number of times over the years.
The biggest upgrade was the addition of the semi-autonomous Autopilot hardware last year.
