Director Sujoy Ghosh's chilling short film 'Ahalya' starring Radhika Apte will simply creep you out. Apte plays the role of Ahalya, the young and beautiful wife of a renowned, aging artist, played by veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee.
The movie gets exciting when a young policeman (Tota Roy Chowdhury) enters their home to question them about a missing man. It gets scary, when audience is shown that a doll-version of the missing person is standing on the couple's mantelpiece, along with 5-6 other dolls.
Apte's absorbing acting gives away that the movie is not as one-dimensional as it seems in the first five minutes.
Chatterjee plays the perfect foil to Apte, by being the strange old man but also holding audience interest till the last minute.
The riveting plot of the film takes you along with it, and what follows is creepy and edgy unraveling of events.
