Budget carrier SpiceJet, which is promoted by South Indian business tycoon Kalanithi Maran, on Tuesday announced another round of discounts sparking another round of airfare war.
Under a 'Monsoon Sale' scheme, the airline is offering flyers fares as low as Rs 1,999 and lower.
The discounted fares are applicable for three days starting Tuesday on all SpiceJet flights from eight cities in South India, the airline said in a release.
The cities are Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mysore and Visakhapatnam. The offer will be valid from July 11 to September 30, added the release.
The fresh round of promotional fares has been announced just two days before the launch of maiden flight of Air Asia.
The flight is scheduled to take off from Bangalore for Goa.
AirAsia India is the domestic subsidiary of Malaysian budget airline AirAsia.
