Just 48 hours ahead of the Nokia World Event, the Finnish company has revealed the specifications of its upcoming phablet Nokia Lumia 1520. The company claims that the leak is not by design, rather it had happened accidentally.
The specifications were leaked after Nokia China listed the Lumia 1520 accidentally on its official Tmall store, which is a hugely popular online marketplace in the country. The new phablet will be the biggest smartphone unveiled by Nokia so far.
The listing by Nokia China showed that the Lumia 1520 will sport a 6-inch display, 20MP PureView camera and quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset. The phablet will be available for sale for around USD 819. The specifications posted on Tmall store are in line with the speculation made by several netizens about this upcoming phablet.
Other rumoured specifications of the Lumia 1520 are Full HD screen (1920x1080p resolution), 2GB RAM, 32 and 64GB storage options, 3,400mAh battery and NFC. Earlier, several images of this handset were posted on the internet, showing that Lumai 1520 will have a big screen.
Nokia is hopeful that this phablet will emerge as a good competitor against Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One Max and Sony Xperia Z Ultra. It is learnt that Apple is also planning to launch a handset with 6-inch display and this device is currently in the testing stage.
Nokia has hinted about the release of this smartphone on October 22 during an event. Sources said that the Finnish company is planning to launch six products at the upcoming event, including a phablet, a tablet and four accessories. The leaked images of the Nokia tablet, named Lumia 2520, are also available on the internet.
Meanwhile, Apple is set to unveil its new iPads during an event on October 22.
