Sheena Bora murder case: Indrani Mukerjea to appear in court as police custody ends - Police custody of the prime accused in Sheena Bora murder case - Indrani Mukerjea, Sanjeev Khanna and Shyamvar Rai - was on Saturday extended till September 7 by a Mumbai court.
The 3 accused were produced in the court this afternoon. The police sought extension of their custody on the basis that the ongoing investigation had yet to uncover some important facts.
Before Indrani's custody ends on Monday, she was taken to her residence in Worli on Sunday, apparently to connect some vital links in the murder case. She was later brought back to Khar police station.
This was Indrani's first visit to her house since her arrest in August. Her current husband Peter Mukerjea, former Star India CEO, who has been extensively interrogated in the case, was also present at their residence.
When Indrani and the cops were present at the residence, she was seen indicating to the policemen in the direction of a garage in the premises, which, according to police is the place where Sheena's body was kept on the day she was killed.
The 3 accused have been arrested on the charges of murdering Sheena and disposing of the body in Pen taluka, Raigad, in April 2012. The police are awaiting forensic results of the samples of the skeletal remains found in Raigad forest where Sheena's body was dumped.
On Thursday, the police had claimed that Indrani had confessed to murdering Sheena and were now probing if somebody else could have been involved in the alleged murder.
