RJD leader Shahabuddin acquitted in triple murder case

A division bench of the Jamshedpur court on Monday acquitted RJD leader Mohammad Shahabuddin of the charges of murdering Anand Rao, Janardan Choubey and Pradeep Mishra on February 2, 1989, near Tata Steel Power house in Jugasalai police station area.

At least eight persons were accused in the case. While three of them died during trial, four were acquitted in 2006.

Shahabuddin's trial was conducted separately as he could not be produced before the court despite repeated summons over the years.

Shahabuddin, accused in over 30 criminal cases, was released from Bhagalpur jail on bail on September 10, 2016.
