Priya Prakash Varrier in trouble: Youth files complaint against Oru Adaar Love song for hurting Muslim sentiments

After breaking the internet, viral sensation Priya Varrier is in news again, this time for a serious reason. A complaint has been filed against the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi lyrics from Oru Adaar Love featuring Varrier and Roshan Abdul Rahoof allegedly for hurting Muslim sentiments.

The complaint has been filed at Falaknuma Police station in Hyderabad. The complainant says nothing against the actors but states that the song's lyrics are against Muslim sentiments and are offensive to the followers of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The complainant Muqueet Khan said, "I tried to sing the song and when I checked the translation, it was about Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). A girl and boy are romancing but linking background with religious sentiments."

He further added that he has no intention of withdrawing his complaint. "I will not take back my complaint. I have checked on Youtube and then filed my complaint", he said.

The director of the film Omar Lulu clarified that the lyrics are not meant to hurt anybody's sentiments. "There is nothing against Islam or Muslims. It is a very old love song sung by all communities," he said.

Released during the Valentine week, the song has caught the fancy of many. Earlier, Varrier had shared her excitement over the clip going viral and has now received offers from Malayalam, Tamil film industries as well as Bollywood.

Oru Adaar Love revolves around the love story of two students and warmth of friendship. The teaser of the film was released recently, suggesting a nostalgic ride through the corridors of school and young-age romance.
