Kane's neighbors have said that police arrived at his lakefront property in Hamburg on Sunday night. Many plainclothes officers entered his house using flashlights and one wore gloves and was taking photos in front of his house.
A young local woman alleged that Kane took her home from a nightclub and raped her after meeting her at a Buffalo nightclub on Saturday night, according to the reports.
Last season, Kane was playing at an MVP-caliber level before breaking his collarbone in February. However, he returned in time for the playoffs, assisting his team win their third Cup in 6 seasons and his third since joining the team in 2007.
During the 2008-09 season, Kane helped the Blackhawks return to playoffs after a five-year absence. They lost in the conference finals to Detroit, but came back hard the next season to beat Philadelphia in 6 games in the Stanley Cup final. In 2013, Blackhawks and Kane won it again as he earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
Kane was the member of 2010 and '14 U.S. Olympic ice hockey teams, but has raised eyebrows with some of his off-ice behavior. In the summer of 2009, he was arrested after an argument with a cab driver in Buffalo. A few years later, pictures posted on the web showed him partying in Madison, Wisconsin.
