Farooq Abdullah files nomination from Srinagar

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and union minister Farooq Abdullah today filed his nomination papers for the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, Abdullah is also the chief of National Conference, which is an ally of Congress, and is power in J&K.

Abdullah's son and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accompanied him to the collector?s office.

Some other senior party leaders were also present at the office, including State Congress president, Saif-ud-Din Soz.

Farooq Abdullah has won the 2009 Lok Sabha polls from this seat and this time he is facing challenge from Peoples Democratic Party candidate Tariq Hameed Karra and Aam Aadmi Party candidate Raja Muzaffar Bhat.

The NC chief will address address a rally at the mausoleum of his father and NC founder, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, in the Nigeen area of the city in evening.
