The NBA trade rumors for Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler refuse to die down and it is likely that a surprising contender for his services could emerge.
The Bulls failed to do anything substantial this season and their lackluster show raised various issues. Majority of the issues were related to Butler's ascension to become the team's superstar. Blog A Bull compiled remarks from Sam Smith of Bulls.com, Nick Friedell of ESPN among others, and claimed that there were some contention in the locker room over Butler''s new status.
Friedell was quoted: "I don't think you can see a situation where Jo and Jimmy return. I would be shocked if all three of Jo, Jimmy and Derrick are at training camp."
While it seems logical to trade off Derrick Rose and let Joakim Noah walk, it is not going to be an easy task. The Bulls had already expressed their desire to re-sign Noah and has not shown much interest in dispelling the Jimmy Butler trade rumors.
If Butler were to be traded, what is going to be the best case for Bulls in terms of what they could get in return? The Philadelphia 76ers has assets that could help in Bulls rebuild. The Sixers boast of two young centers still on their rookie deals-a premium for rebuilding teams. It is learned that the Bulls are yet to take a final call on a full rebuild, there is a chance they lose Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah.
There were two packages quoted the first involved sending Nerlens Noel, the incoming Dario Saric, the OKC Pick (26th), and Sixers 2017 1st round pick protected 1-7 on 2017 and 2018, and then unprotected in 2019.
