It seems that Dwight Howard is returning to his first NBA team where he played in the Finals. The latest NBA rumors are linking the Houston Rockets center to three other teams, the Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Hornets as possible destinations for Howard.
It is to be noted that Howard has a player option in his current contract with the Rockets and he has the option to stay for another year with the Texas team. But rumors are strong that his relationship with the Rockets, especially star shooting guard James Harden has worsened this year and this may force him to change team.
The Rockets are struggling in the regular season and it makes 30-year-old Howard exploring free agency a foregone conclusion.
Howard may return to the Magic, according to ESPN. Howard's game is not the same what it was when he was with Magic years ago but Orlando now features a young core and his defense and rebounding could prove beneficial for the team.
Howard averages 13.7 points and 11.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots this season. He played for the Magic from 2004 to 2012 after becoming the first overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by Orlando. He has been with the Rockets from 2013 to 2016.
