After yet another disappointing season for the Los Angeles Clippers, Blake Griffin's name once again doing the rounds of the NBA rumors and it is likely that he would be traded over the upcoming offseason. The Clippers have found some success in the regular season when Griffin was with the team but they have fell short of expectations in the playoffs.
Like the Clippers, the New York Knicks also failed to do much in this season. Rumors are strong that the Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony may be looking for a fresh start with another team and it is likley that Anthony could be traded for Griffin. The trade would actually benefit both the Knicks and Clippers.
Inquisitr had earlier reported that Anthony was linked to a variety of different teams, but the Knicks decided against trading him. Griffin's name also cropped up in numerous trade discussions, notably with the Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks, but he also remained with the Clippers. While the Knicks failed to reach the playoffs, Griffin actually had a chance to play for a championship this year.
Clippers may be in contention next year with Griffin and Chris Paul, many analysts maintain that the two have passed their prime. NBA insiders believe that the duo has reached their ceiling. It is important to remain competitive every year in the regular season, but it is now quite apparent that there are going to be at least three different teams better than them next season in the Western Conference alone - the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, and Oklahoma City Thunder. In the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers are seen by many as stronger than the Clippers.
