Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, specs, features, price, latest news and updates: Kaby Lake or SD 635 and Surface Dial to be part of 2-in-1 hybrid

Microsoft is making the Surface Pro 5, the successor to Surface Pro 4, many reports have been claiming for some time now. For those waiting for Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date anxiously, the Redmond company was earlier expected to announce the much-awaited device at its October 2016 event, then at MWC 2017, and now a spring 2017 launch is being expected, though an October 2017 launch is equally likely.

It had been hoped that the 2-in1 hybrid would be unveiled at the end of last year when the Surface Studio came out. However, that didn't happen. Then there was the MWC 2017, where Surface lovers were highly anticipating an unveiling or at the very least an update, here also they got nothing.

While Microsoft continues to remain mum, there are some rumors doing the rounds which claim that we could yet see the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 out in spring 2017. However, there's nothing solid to go on and certainly no official word from Microsoft about the rumors, as per PC Advisor.

Coming to Microsoft Surface Pro 5 specs, features and price, the device is expected to feature the Intel "Kaby Lake" Core i7 processor. This new chipset improves overall performance and also helps save the battery life. Apart from it, the device will also be having a rechargeable Surface Pen and a new keyboard base. It is also expected to boast a lightweight aluminum body and a 12.3-inch display.

However different reports say that Surface Pro 5 will be having Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 processor instead of Intel Kaby Lake that would extend the device's battery life. The Surface Pro 5 is likely to come equipped with a 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage.

The Surface Pro 5 is also rumored to feature a rechargeable Surface Pen. Moreover, reports suggest that the tablet PC might sport a 12.3-inch Ultra HD/4K displays, USB Type-C support, and a robust battery, According to Market Exclusive.

Microsoft is likely to launch the Surface Pro 5 in its October event as the company had announced the Surface Pro 4 in October 2015. Interestingly, Microsoft has also removed the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 from its online store that is also leading to speculate that Company is gearing up to launch the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 2017, as reported by DigitalTrends.

As far as Surface Pro 5 price is concerned, it is expected to priced similar to its predecessor.
