Maruti hikes prices across models by up to Rs 9000 except for new S-Cross - Maruti Suzuki India has hiked prices of all its vehicles by up to Rs 9,000, except that of newly-launched premium crossover S-Cross, citing changes in dealer margin.
The hike has come within a fortnight of rival Hyundai also increasing prices by as much as Rs 30,000 citing rising cost of raw materials.
According to the company spokesperson, the average hike in the ex-showroom prices, with effect from August 11, across models ranges from Rs 3,000 to Rs 9,000.
Maruti Suzuki's current portfolio in India ranges from its entry-level Alto 800 to premium crossover S-Cross, priced between Rs 2.52 lakh to Rs 13.74 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It has a near 50 percent share in the country?s passenger vehicle market.
The firm did not share the exact amount of increase for each of its cars. Prices of commodities such as aluminum and steel have usually been soft throughout in 2015 and have not necessitated an increase in prices for Maruti in this year so far.
