Lorde disses Taylor Swift, calls her friendship 'autoimmune disease'

Singer Lorde has dissed Taylor Swift. When asked what is it like to be a part of Taylor Swift's girl squad, the "Green Light" singer said it's like having a friend with "autoimmune disease."

"It's like having a friend with very specific allergies," she said while speaking to The Guardian. "There are certain places you can't go together. Certain things you can't do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It's like having a friend with an autoimmune disease."

Lorde earlier said that she is not "good" at being famous, so being friends with one of the most famous singers of today definitely has its challenges. What makes their friendship work is how much they value each other in their lives.

"It's an element of wanting to stick together," she said of her bond with Swift. "Because it can be so scary to do this. These friendships, they're about having a hand put on your shoulder by someone who knows. They're about hearing, 'I've done it, too.'"

Earlier, Lorde said she became a victim of body shaming after her song "Royals" became a hit. "It rocked my foundations and could have [messed me up], you know? I remember being made aware of my looks and my body in a way that I had never been," Lorde told NME.

Lorde further said that she was no stranger to criticism, but fame took things to a whole different level. "I remember all these kids online, I think I beat their favorite people to number one [on the music charts], and they were like, '[Expletive] her, she's got really far-apart eyes.' I remember being like, 'Whoa! How did I get all this way without knowing I had far-apart eyes?' Just weird [things] like that," she said.

Lorde was only 16 when the album "Pure Heroine" came out, so she didn't know how to handle the negative attention. But now that she has released her second album, "Melodrama," the singer said she is better equipped to handle public scrutiny, whether it be good or bad.

"Melodrama" was released on June 16.
