A day after a video surfaced showing a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan being attacked by an angry mob while he was returning from a polling booth in Srinagar, veteran Indian left-hander Gautam Gambhir criticised the Kashmiri youth for the shocking incident.
Gambhir, who doesn't hesitate in sharing his thoughts on burning issues, took to Twitter to slam the Kashmiri youngsters for the incident.
"For every slap on my army's Jawan lay down at least a 100 jihadi lives. Whoever wants Azadi LEAVE NOW! Kashmir is ours. #kashmirbelongs2us," he tweeted.
"Anti-Indians hav forgotten dat our flag also stands 4: saffron - fire of our anger, white - shroud for jihadis, green - hatred 4 terror," the batsman added.
The video, shot on Sunday, shows a group of angry youngsters targeting the CRPF personnel as they return from carrying out their duty in Budgam district.
Despite having weapons, the CRPF jawan showed restraint and chose to stay silent while walking down the street filled with the slogan-shouting mob.
In the video, the Kashmiri youngsters are seen slapping and kicking the jawan, who had a rifle in hand, in an attempt to evoke a sharp reaction from him, but to no avail.
