KCA urges BCCI to lift ban on Sreesanth

KCA urges BCCI to lift ban on Sreesanth - The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to lift the life ban on former Indian fast bowler S. Sreesanth.

Two days after Sreesanth was acquitted of spot-fixing charges by a trial court in Delhi, he visited the KCA headquarters at Jawaharlal Nehru International (JNI) stadium to explore possibilities of his return to professional cricket.

This was Sreesanth's first visit to Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in nearly 2 years following the life ban slapped on him by the BCCI. He was assured of all possible help by KCA president TC Mathew.

However, KCA's email is not likely to influence the BCCI, which has stated that the decision taken by it is independent of any criminal proceeding.

The custodian of JNI stadium in Kochi, Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA), has said that Sreesanth will be allowed to practice at the stadium if he so wants.
