John Travolta to receive special honour at IIFA awards
Hollywood star and two-time Academy Award nominee and two-time Golden Globe award winner John Travolta will be awarded a special honour at the upcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in the US.
The 'Pulp Fiction' actor will attend the event and receive the "Most Popular All time International star in India" honour.
Travolta's presence at IIFA sends a message that the distance between Hollywood and Bollywood is slowly decreasing. Travolta is an iconic name in Hollywood and he has achieved huge success as an actor, singer and dancer.
He has acted in several superhit films including Saturday Night Fever, Pulp Fiction, Grease, Swordfish, Face Off, Broken Arrow and Ladder 49. John Travolta has been nominated for the Academy Award twice and nominated for 7 Golden Globes. He won 2 Golden Globes including one for his performance in Get Shorty.
This year IIFA will also saw performances from Bollywood biggies like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Farhan Akthar, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit, Sidharth Malhotra and Deepika Padukone among others. Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will present a special musical act at IIFA. which will be held in Tampa Bay, Florida from April 23-26.
