Jet crew grounded for Sonu Nigam's mid-air concert

Mumbai: Five air hostesses of Jet Airways have been grounded for allowing playback singer Sonu Nigam to sing from the plane's address system.

The in-flight concert took place during a chartered flight from Jodhpur to Mumbai on January 4.

The passengers aboard the flight were returning from a wedding and knew each other. They requested Nigam to sing some of his hit songs.

He sang two songs - Panchhi nadiya from Abhishek Bachchan's 'Refugee,' and Do pal ruka from Yash Raj Films' 'Veer Zaara,' according to the reports.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) took a strict view of the performance and asked the airline to take immediate action.
