India hockey captain Sardar Singh accused of sexual harassment, Singh denies charges

Ludhiana: An international hockey player of Indian origin has filed a police complaint against national team captain Sardar Singh alleging sexual harassment.

Britain under-19 women's hockey team player has filed a written complaint with the Koom Kalan police station in Ludhiana district, Punjab.

The woman hails from Leeds in England and was the first Sikh player in the Britain under-19 women's hockey team.

The woman claimed she has been engaged to Sardar for the past 4 years and alleged that he physically and emotionally tortured her.

She also alleged that Sardar forced her to abort their child in 2014 against her wishes and later refused to marry her.

Police station in-charge SS Nagra confirmed that the matter was being investigated following a complaint.
